We are planning a church wedding for our daughter and we are unsure of the protocol in respect of notifying a registrar. Does a registrar need to be present at the church as well as the vicar? Help please! Thanks

Nope - the vicar does it all, in terms of giving notice, s/he will read the banns:rotfl:0

When you say 'church', do you mean Church of England? If so then yes, the vicar does it all - but if it's a Catholic church or another branch of Christianity I think you have to give notice as you would for a civil ceremony, which means your daughter and her fiance will need to go to the registry office in the area where they live. Best to ring the registry office and check."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0
