From blonde to brunette bombsell now to Silver siren

Well maybe the only siren is at the bombshell effect of aging on me.

That aside I decided to give the dye and went cold turkey at the end of last year - wimped out a bit and had highlights to soften the surf line as it appeared on the head (being a shorty this is clearly viable to most school children)

Now I only have around 2/3 inches at the end of hair to grow out and was wondering if any of those shampoos aimed at grey hair such as silver highlights or touch of silver are any good and do they actually make a difference. They are not what I call cheap at around £6 for one small bottle of silver highlights.

Or can anyone with hands on experience share their fews and recommendations.

Many thanks in advance

The shampoos you mention are just toners to take any yellow out of the hair; they don't lighten or reduce tint at all. Have you thought about using one of the tint removers (one's called Colour B4 or similar) you can buy at Boots/Superdrug etc? Might be just what you need. One application is apparently all it takes.

Depends how it looks, really. You could brazen it out as a fashionable "ombre" look. :)

No personal experience of this; still in the "brunette bombshell" phase myself, but with about 18" of tinted hair I've a lot of dithering to do yet.

    HTH. :)

I have just had most cut out - just the odd little bit now, just wondered if worth getting grey shampoo now - used a tint remover last year to get brunette out when I decided to let nature take it's course and go grey. just left a little residual colour - taken about 9 months - reckon come 1st jan 2014 will be totally gone - around 98 percent now grey
