still on emergency tax

i phoned tax office who first said just wait a month until current emoloyer updates details then the second time they said to get p45 from previous employer from the time before i claimed jsa. They seem to have jsa details. I worked for previous employer for two weeks at first, first week i was on emergency tax then i rang tax office and they put me on normal code. Then the employer got rid of me and sent p45 then i went onto jsa. Then i worked for same employer again but got put onto et because i didn't sign p46 i suppose. Now my question is should i get another p45 from them since i stopped working for them or don't you get a p45 when on emergency tax? Thanks in advance

It's normal for HMRC to keep you Emergency Tax (as to put it) for a few months after JSA. Good news is despite earning less, you get a lump sum in tax-owed when the HMRC realise what your tax-code is.

What you need to do to clear this up is:

Send your P45 to them REGISTERED MAIL
Wait 4 weeks (they say longer!) but it's 4
    Call them up
    ask them whats happening
  • thanks but that didn't answer my question which is am i due another p45 from employer since working for them twice? I got one after the first time but not the second.

If you have earned at any time more than the lower earnings limit then a P45 should be issued. In your case if you have paid emergency tax, or as I suspect 0T tax not emergency, then one should definitely have been issued.
