Stirling Park Problem

Hi,

I currently deal with Stirling Park for Council Tax Arrears, and have a repayment agreement with them.

They are wanting to increase the payment amount I make, even though I cant afford it, but they refuse to put this in writing, wanting to do it all over the phone.

I obviously do not want to do this over the phone, and was wondering if there was some sort of official letter template thing stating that I want everything put in writing.

Send them a letter, signed for if you can afford or proof of posting if not.

Refer them to the recent conversation about increased payments and sate you cannot afford more.

Also complain that you were told they would not deal in writing and this is what you require as you need a copy of everything for your records.

If they ring, refer them to your letter/ complaint.

Companies say all sorts on the phone they will never put in writing.

In fact, if you want to test it out, the next time they ring say fine you will discuss but the call is being recorded for your records. Bet they hang up or are very careful.

Stirling Park are Scottish. So different rules but I guess the principle is the same. I guess they haven't taken formal action yet to enforce the debt?
