You won't hear anything from the OR yet - you need to give them about a month.

When creditors ring, just tell them you went BR on 30 May & give them the case details - they'll want the case number, where & when you had your hearing & the name of the OR. If they try to get you involved in a conversation about your debt, tell them that you aren't allowed to discuss the case further than that with them, so if they have any queries they should write to the OR.

Hello,
I was told today in court that if anyone rings you tell them your BR number and tell them to deal with the official receiver. And it's up to them to find out how to get hold of them. Yay!0 -
the day i went BR i went home photocopied the order and posted a copy to all my creditors no one phoned or contacted me after that it was well worth the price of the stamps ...BR as of 26th April 2007 and feeling 10 years younger :T
If only ex could be sorted as easily :wall:0 -
Don't ring them if you answer the phone tell them you have gone BR, give them the relevant information then put the phone down.Barclaycard 3800

The CAB I used advised me to send copies of the order to each of the creditors, which i did on the day i went BR.
Never heard another thing from them either by phone or post, except for one who wrote to acknowledge reciept of the order and that this is the last commeunication I would recieve from them as they will deal with OR directly from that point forwards.

once you've done that, can you ceremoniously burn all the statements and letters? I think that would be incredably therepeutic!0

Personally, I wouldn't get rid of them. As much as you might enjoy doing it at the time, you sometimes do need to refer back to statements (eg to confirm the last balance on the account) & they're harder to get further down the line. Letters are worth their weight in gold in terms of providing a paper trail if there are queries later on, eg if a company say you didn't send certain documentation when months before they sent you a letter confirming receipt of it. Not all company admin is as good as it should be & I wouldn't be surprised if some companies pretend not to have certain letters on file.
If you've got statements or letters, I'd advise putting them in a clearly labelled box & storing them somewhere safe, where you don't have to look at them every day but where you can get to them if you need to.
