Suggestion for a job "market place" on MSE

In these tough times and with the employment sub-forum on MSE busy and filled with good people looking for work, can I suggest a sticky for work offered/work wanted?
Those looking for work could post their skills and what jobs they are looking for under "jobs wanted".
Those that know of jobs going where they work, or are in a position to recruit people if they see someone of interest here, or know of jobs that are not necessarily advertised, could also post "jobs offered" or PM the ones matching the skill set.
Networking is one of the ways of landing a job.
Just my 2 cents.

I think it is a great idea especially with the increase in unemployment. It would have to be split into areas of the UK, as most people myself included will not trawl through hundreds for them to be 100 miles away.0

I'm afraid I disagree.
Yes, networking is definitely a way to increase your exposure to potential employers but I don't think a public minimally monitored forum is the way to do it.
There are already well established networking sites available such as LinkedIn plus a host of online job websites.
Do you really feel that people should be exchanging personal details with others they do not know and cannot easily check out?
Just my thought on the subject.:hello:0 -

That's why they would post a link to LinkedIn or similar and you apply via there but having said that no employer should really need to advertise all over as there is not really a shortage of candidates out there. We’ve had to remove your signature. I'm with Tiddlywinks - it would require active moderation and I can't see MSE offering the resources to do that.0

I think in theory it is a good idea, but I can only imagine the amount of spam that would appear on a website that is not 24/7 monitored.
Just best to keep it to asking others where they look for job, network etc on the more established sites for this type of thing.0 -
On the point about active moderation, I was recently banned for being naughty- not like spam or anything, more specifically for swearing.
It took them about 5 days from the time I swore, to the time they banned me. Btw, I promise to be good in the future.
I agree with others that they may not have the resources to actively moderate.
And plus, MSE has a wide range of members, ranging from high-ranking professionals to entry-level workers. I'm the latter currently, therefore one thread could be quite tedious to trawl through if I'm looking for a job as a waiter/admin and there are jobs there for university lecturers, engineers and IT guys. So it would have to be a multi-threaded approach which could potentially become very confusing.
I like the simple premise of the idea however, I do feel that real life could complicate it rather too much.“Washing one's hands of the conflict between the powerful and the powerless means to side with the powerful, not to be neutral. ”

It is an already oversaturated market, there is no need for another one on a money saving website.
Try Indeed OP, it does pretty much that, but with ease and speed.0
