Claiming back tube fees

Hi,
For the last 18 months I have been commuting into London from Huntingdon in Cambs. I come into Kings Cross, and have been taking the northern line down to Bank, and exiting via Monument station, which is 5 minutes from my office.
A chance converstaion has revealed, that because my ticket is from Huntingdon to London Terminals, this covers me from Kings Cross to Moorgate, including using the tube. I have verified this is correct with TFL staff.
So now I am getting the tube as far as Moorgate and walking the 5 minutes or so to Bank, where I would have got off anway, saving approx £4 per day.
It has been mentioned by a colleague that I may be able to reclaim what I have spent on unnecessary tube fees, given that I already had a ticket that covered most of the journey, and that I would have used this if I had known.
Do any of you Money Saving Experts out there have any thoughts on this? Sounds a bit too good to be true to me, but could be worth a try?
Many thanks,
John

Well there are those who say it's always worth a try, but really in this case you don't stand an earthly
It might be worth checking if it's any quicker changing at Finsbury Park for the line through Old Street to Moorgate - it's one of the reasons why your ticket is valid the way it is. The other being that there used to be through trains to Moorgate from the mainline.0 -
I very much doubt you can claim this back, for a start its your fault. Also you cannot prove you havent used the ticket for further journeys, unless of course you still have them all.0
