I dont know if these are the same ones...but we had tesco healthy living alaskan salmon last night. No bones found but they were very fishy smelling...i know its fish but they smelt a lot stronger than any salmon we've had before, funnily tho they didnt really taste of anything...not even fish! Wont be buying again.0

I was in Sainsbury's recently and asked the bloke on the fish counter:"What's wild?" and he told me:" None of it" - the cod, salmon, tilapia, river cobbler, sole, plaice - all farmed.
Just because something says Alaskan or Scottish salmon, don't assume it means wild. Likewise, in Marks and Spencer don't pay more for Lochmuir salmon because it's just a brand.
If you want taste, buy wild. If you want fewer bones, buy the more expensive stuff which is hand-filleted not done by machine. The cheap stuff often leaves lots of tiny broken off pin bones along the edges, not too good for kids.
If you're concerned about wild fish stocks, ask your favourite supermarket about their buying policy or look for the MSC logo.
Wild salmon can be found cheaply, you just have to hunt for it.0
