Handyman/Rubbish Removal - Manchester
I've got some rubbish in my back garden (bits of wood, garden waste, bath panel, etc) and I was wondering if anyone knows of a handyman type service which will remove it. I know it would be cheaper to take it to the local tip however I am unable to drive.
Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

you could try your council, they come and take away (free) old cookers and fridges etc, we didnt realise until someone told us, we just left it out the back on the day they said it would be collected.0

I think councils now charge for this service, at least mine does for several years, I am sure many others do also
From my councils web site,
Charges
Up to 3 items costs £16.00. Additional items cost £3.00 each.
Fridges / freezers cost £16.00 per item.
Your council

We provide a free service for the removal of bulky items of refuse like beds, cookers and fridges and small amounts of garden refuse. We aim to collect bulky items within ten working days.0 -

Hi,
If the council won't take it for you its really important that the man/ company you use has a waste carriers licence (or excemption) as if they subseqently dump your waste you could be liable if you haven't checked. Ask to see their licence, you can also check on the Environment Agency's website by postcode: http://www2.environment-agency.gov.uk/epr/search.asp?type=register
