Just some simple mortgage advice please?!?!

Hi All

Mortgages seem to be a nightmare. Why isn't there a 'best of market' mortgage recommendation ever available? If I wanted a credit card or a loan someone would say for example Tesco's are doing a good rate or A & L, etc. Why is mortgage advice never this simple?

I've been advised that the lifetime tracker with Barclays/Woolwich flexible mortgage @ 5.68% tracking at .18% above BoE is a good one for me?

Anyone know if there's anything better out there? I know people always say, "it depends on your circumstances". But I can't understand why if there was a good mortgage at a good rate over the long term why wouldn't this be good for all? I just want to remortgage for £60000. My property is worth £275000 and I just want to pay off my mortgage as quickly and as cheaply as I can. Like everyone else.

Any advice most welcome,

Cheers!

Why should there be? Different people have different needs and different lenders will have different target markets.

There isnt that many credit cards or loans available and they are products with limited features.

It is if you know the subject.

It depends on your circumstances ;) A mortgage deal can be very good for one person but not as good for another. Perhaps a certain lender offers better deals with higher deposits or the fees suit a larger mortgage rather than a smaller one.

It does sound easy, until interest rates increase.
