A clear sign that austerity is far from over.

An ageing UK population will put "unsustainable" pressure on public finances unless some £19bn of spending cuts or tax rises are introduced, says the Office for Budget Responsibility.
"Population ageing will put upward pressure on public spending," it said.
The OBR said these additional savings would be needed in the year to April 2019, on top of the already-announced £153bn in austerity measures.

Funny how you never hear that on the Beeb.It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees. As well, the cars are all passing me, bright lights are flashing me.

Why did he think "systolic" ?0 -
There remains preposterous waste in the public sector. My recent tenant has a team of 3 social workers assigned to help him with everything from property viewings, to showing him how the washing machine and airing cupboard work, to taking him shopping for a bed and clock radio all paid for by the state. His rent again state funded is £800 pm.
On top of this these social workers are very lazy and always just want to chit chat and have a laugh and are often off ill and will in time take generous maternity leave.
He's a sharp good looking lad of 26, but never worked a day in his life. He is an ex offender so there is arguably some merit in this but the sheer resources sucked into just one person is astounding.
Utterly spoiled society imo.0 -
