Pay tax for oversea earning

I came to UK on December 2006 from Australia. Currently I am working in UK in a permanent position and also I have been doing some works for an Australia company since 1st July 2006 (invoice the company by using my ABN - Australian Business Number).

I am not sure what is the best way for me to do my tax return. Should I pay tax for the income that I earnt from Australia in UK or should I pay tax for the income that I earnt from Australia in Australia? Anyone familiar with this?

Your post is confused. Did you come in 2005 or 2006?

The self-employment income is taxable in the UK, so you should have registered as self-employed.

I came from Australia to UK on December 2006.

I am currently working in a permanent position in UK. Beside working a full-time job in UK, I am also doing some works for a company in Australia, sort of freelance job.

Quite possibly both - though if there is a double taxation agreement between the two countries some allowance will be made for the tax paid in the other country.
