Thank you both, I am really pleased :j
Am just about to ring up Natwest Credit Card, there's only £691 left on there now but I'm going to see if I can reduce the interest rate a bit more until it can be paid off.
I feel so stupid for buying things on BT cards and never checking interest rates etc, something I will definately never get into trouble with again!
Had a rubbish day at work and all this hassle this morning, but it has definately got better0 -

I will have to go to Natwest (again!) to pay the credit card off as for some reason it will not let me do it online but I suppose I will then only owe Natwest £647.
I have in fact asked to extend my 0% overdraft with A&L to cover this to see if I could pay this back, so we shall see....
Re settleds, does it look better on your credit history if you have settled and closed accounts? I have closed 3 Natwest Accounts today with nothing owing on them, Next and Littlewoods accounts are paid - should I settle these as well? I am hoping to get 0% in Sept for BT so I want to improve my credit rating as much as possible.
Unfortunately we do not regularly have the extra £400, it was surprise expenses paid by DH firm that we had forgotten about.
The annoying thing is I have a claim with the bank for £1400 for bank charges, which includes Court fee and interest. Part of me is tempted to ring Cobbetts up and ask for the original £923 plus the Court fee and settle for that, as that would settle the credit card and I would only have £600 owing on the other. Not sure if I can handle the stress of waiting for the Court process when I could do with reducing the debt now.
YES YES YES!! Close down any accounts that are paid up, close em all! this will mean your credit rating will show the amount of debt "available " to you. If you have 2x accounts, close & settle then it will reduce the amount of debt available to you, so in time when you want to shuffle, youll have more to play with.Plus it makes you look like a great payer
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Great stuff BAUK - yes, close down the accounts. Before I got in debt, I had a store card for Waitrose, paid off in full every month. And they invited me to change it to a credit card - there were lots of freebies so I applied. And I was turned down! I'd been stoozing, and when I left the cards behind, I left them open, so my credit record ended up looking terrible. Closing them will do your record a world of good.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
