Didn't count on the cost of rail transpost though- doesn't look like I can afford to go.

Well done on the win, what a shame you don't think you'll be able to go. I live about 40 mins from there and it looks like a stunning place.
Hopefully you'll be able to sort something out and if not, like me ( I had to turn down a £1000 wedding photography win recently), you learn the hard way of making sure you read all the T & C's.
Chin up, if its happens once it can definitely happen again, good luck

I know rail travel is expensive and I don't know your circumstances - but is there anyway you can use a National Express £6 journey ticket or some other deal to get there - if it doesn't have to be used immediately perhaps you can keep a look-out for special deals for travel. Hope you can make use of your win. Fingers crossed.September Wins : One Direction posters, Kappa Football.
Thank you to all the lovely posters & board guides :beer:0 -
Thanks everyone. I have looked into National Express, journey time is 13 hours each way and fares around £130.
I don't want to contemplate 26 hours in a coach with two kids for a three day trip.
It's a pity this competition was only open to people living in Scotland- with no concession for transport. I may end up giving the prize away- I have spoken to the hotel and they are happy to transfer names.0 -

hi, have you tried mega bus, they can be cheap, hope you find a way, i live about an hour away and it looks lovely x0 -
Oh that's a real shame, hope that you can sort something out x0

Megabus is better, £100 return each, it's an overnighter both ways though- journey time 12 hours. Grim in the extreme. Iwould need a holiday after that!!
I appreciate everyone's help0 -
Whereabouts are you based? Just wondered if anyone might be going that way for work maybe and could help out?0
