My understanding of CSA1 housing costs matches Crellow's description.I often use a tablet to post, so sometimes my posts will have random letters inserted, or entirely the wrong word if autocorrect is trying to wind me up. Hopefully you'll still know what I mean.0

Guys, thanks so much, but I really don't get what you mean by "departure"
Can you clarify?0 -
A departure is a request to 'depart' from the original equations to calculate the maintenance.
Either party can apply for a departure reasons may be High housing costs, high travel costs, lifestyle inconsistency etc etc
Just google departure/csa and you will find info.
It is only called a departure on CSA1. On csa2 it is called a variation.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Thanks, 365. To be honest I'm still not sure about what exactly will happen if I get married and when the baby comes, I'm still really confused as so much of the advice is conflicting. Thanks all for trying anyway.0

What do you want to happen to your payments? If you don't report the change in your circumstances the payments will stay the same. If you do report the change, I have already explained how you will receive allowances to reflect the fact that you have another child. Your partner will be assumed to be able to make an equal contribution to your shared child unless her wages show his is not the case. You will continue to receive he benefit of your full housing costs until/unless he PWC applies for a Departure to attribute these costs between you and your GF.0

In our experience when we got married the payments increased. When we had our first child together the payments dropped a tiny bit. When we had our second child it made more of a difference and they dropped by a bigger amount. Have sent you a pm. DACC0

I assume CSA1 refers to what we call on the buissness, old rules, and CSA2 is new rules? If ive got that right i cant help much as i work on new rules, what i can say for sure is ure partners child will be taken into account as a relevant other child, and 15% of ure net income will be set asiside and an assessment done on the rest becuase of this.
I will check at work but i know for a fact on new rules your partners income isnt even looked at, ive heard from old rules that it is, ill try to get you some answers when im next at work.0 -

CSAworker - what you have said only applies to "new rules" (csa2) - "old rules" (csa1) doesn't work in even vaguely the same way, and the op is on "old rules".
For the op - this booklet explains how csa1 is calculated and how your gf's income is taken into account, page 19 and pages 32-34 in particular:
