Hiya
I have been in my job for nearly 6 months now but I hate it...I mean I get up each morning dreading going to work but I cannot pack it in as I have a mortgage and debts to pay!
The people I work with are fab and the company is ok its just the actual job! I have my 1-1 with my manager tomorrow and I am thinking of saying that the job is making me ill and I am dreading coming in every day so would there be a chance of me moving to another role. When I originally applied there were 2 roles and I have learnt a lot of the other role too and I so wish I had chosen that one!
Do you think it would be ok for me to ask her that? or do you think she will just say that as I am on probation if I don't like it then leave!
The thing is I think they are thinking of extending my probation anyway as I have made a few errors in the job but the training was terrible and its quite a hard job for the money I am paid. Also the other job is paid the same but a lot easier and one I have had no errors in and I know how to do well.
I would really appreciate your opinions?
Thank you

Probably the very worst approach you could make to getting that other role.Iloveprettythings wrote: »I am thinking of saying that the job is making me ill and I am dreading coming in every day so would there be a chance of me moving to another role. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -

Look at the positive and present that at your 1:1.
Is there actually a vacancy solely for the role you like?
Look at the errors you have made in your appointed role and see what can be done to improve your performance there. If you stop making mistakes you will probably find you enjoy it more.0 -

I agree with you but my manager and I have discussed the fact that the training was bad and I suppose I feel like an idiot as I don't really understand the role that well although I have been doing it for 6 months.!! So feel I look rather stupid. My manager has been really good about it and has said that she can see that the training was not that good but I really don't enjoy the job at all and I know I would be a lot happier in the other role.
I am looking for another job and hope to leave in the next few months but to be honest its a shame as I am a good worker and I am very efficient in the other role so therefore they are losing someone who is conscientious and a good team player just because I don't enjoy the job I have.
