I just wondered if anyone had tried these and what sort of results they give?
I have Fibro and CFS and suffer regularly with pain and have read about these being good for that. I understand they're not a fast track to weight loss or anything, was just hoping they might be enough to build me up and reduce pain enough to walk etc.
I had thought about roller skating but I am a bit unsure as I don't want to do myself any more damage!

Where do you live? I have one just now that I have hired (£40 a month) and am planning to buy one as I love it so much. I was told that by using it 3 times a day I could drop a dress size pretty quickly but I haven't used it that much - usually once a day for 10mins. Someone I work with had excellent results and that convinced me to give it a try.
I am definitely going to buy one and although I don't know much about them being good for pain, the massage setting is on them is great. If you have a search online for rental places it would be worth getting one for a month or a couple of weeks to try it.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -

Thanks for this. I am in the north east. I was thinking about hiring one first. As i said, I know it's not a magic weight loss pill but if I couls maybe regain some strength, I could try and do a bit more 'normal' exercise.0 -
Do you mean the fat-loss Vibrotrim ones or PowerPlates? Vibrotrims generally get used alone, you do exercises on them and can use them for massage.
I wouldn't advise anyone with any joint or muscle issues to use Vibrotrims - I'm quite fit and I found it made my joints ache a little.

I wasn't aware there was more than one version!! Whoops. Thanks for pointing that out. I knew there were different makes of them of course but I thought they were all the same type of thing where you do exercises on them and they help tone you and build muscle.
The massage sounds good though!
My head is itching to get out there and do something but my body is like "I don't think so"! My doc although generally quite good, hasn't given me much advice about this. Maybe I will pop and see her again.x0 -
As far as I am aware they can all be used for massage. The one I rented was £40 a month but the person also does 2 week rentals so you wouldn't lose out on much financially if you got a 2 week rental and it didn't work for you.
This document outlines many of the exercises you can do on a vibration plate. Although it is the powerplate branded one you could do these on any vibration plate http://www.powerplate.com/resources/doc/exercise-guides/pro-series-exercise-guide-na.pdfIf you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0
