Lloyds Tsb - Can Anybody Give Advice!

After 2 months of saying they hadn't received my DMP plan from CCCS, my repayment plan was set up for both my loan and overdraft at the end of March, the Lady I spoke to assured me interest would be frozen on both, this didn't happen of course and I spoke to a guy about 3 weeks ago who froze interest on overdraft. Then to my surprise I received a refinance package from them, I spoke to CCCS who said that this was their usual tactics and to expect some more letters etc. Yesterday I received a letter from them saying they had not had confirmation of my acceptance and I had to contact them to say yes to the refinance or pay the arrears!!!!!!!!!!!! Has anybody had a similar experience? I am going to phone CCCS in a minute and get their advice. Great start to the week!!

Hi there,
I've had problems with Lloyds. According to them, they can only PERMANENTLY freeze the interest if it gets passed to a long term debt recovery agency. Lloyds agency is BSL (from memory i think)!!! I pay £1 a month off my loan on the recommendation of CCCS. However this has only just been set up so I may have problems like you in future.
From my experience, Lloyds are sneaky when they say they've frozen the interest to me in the past its been a lie. They did say every time they apparantely froze the interst it would only be for a 6 month period.
Sorry I'm not much help, but I didnt want to leave your post hanging!

Hi
I have had extremely similar problems with Lloyds. I posted them awhile back (3 or 4 days ago). If you get anywhere, please let me know how. I have been in conflict with them over not receiving the dmp info since last August (06) and yet Payplan has sent it many times - I've lost count - I have physically taken ti into the branch, I have faxed it - last Saturday to 4 different fx numbers and yet no t received is the reply. Sorry I can't help more but at least you are not alone in the problem.
Hugs to you.LBM August 2005 £40,000

Hi, Thank You Both For Your Replies, At Least I Am Not On My Own. Surprise Surprise I Had A Letter From Lloyds Saying I Had Gone Over My Overdraft, Guess What, They Had Charged Me For Overdraft Interest, So My Conversation I Had With A Very Nice Guy Who Assured Me Interest Was Frozen Was A Waste Of Time. Will Have To Phone Them Back Again, I Will Try And Speak To The Guy Who Confirmed Interest Was Frozen. I Spoke To Cccs Who Told Me That This Is A Usual Lloyds Tactic, Ie. They Try And Get You To Refinance, So I Am Just Bracing Myself For More Letters And Possible Phone Calls, Oh Happy Days!!!!!!!!!0

I had big problems with lloyds - when the cancelled my overdraft for no reason. Just keep on phoning them and I know you probably already are but keep a record of every phone call (i normally put the time i began the phone call, duration, as well as persons name dep and if they wont give surname a ref number for the call.... i have worked in cc know all the tricks they use to pretend you never spoke to them!).
Hope you have more luck soonDebt free May 2016 (without the support of MSE forum users that would never have been possible - thank you all)0 -
I also had similar problems and asked them to deal with it under their complaints procedure. They eventually "found" letters I had sent them (recorded delivery) and confirmed frozen interest etc and paid me £100 compensation. Try writing to;

Unfortunately lloyds are like that. Ignore the letters and the phone calls for refinance they can't do anything to force you to take it, the same thing happened to me, expect a few more offers eventually they give up. If you do have this misfortune to speak to anyone at lloyds tell them it contravenes your DMP with CCCS to take out more credit.
As for the interest and charges, here's the bad news Lloyds were fine with me for about a year into my DMP but then they decided to get a new bad debt policy and started charging me interest on my debts with them. They keep threatening to sell the debt on but never do, I wish they would because that would make things easier as interest nearly always get frozen at that point.
I'm currently trying to pay them 70% of what I owe in a full and final settlement of the debts as I'm being made redundant soon, even in this they are so difficult to communicate with, they've obviously got my letters as the phone calls and stupid standard letters from them have started but they won't acknowledge the offer LOL. Brick wall anyboby?
Good luck and keep persisting, eventually they get the message.0 -
HI again
Lloyds are still being a pain. Payplan sent them all the information and so had I but now they say that they didn't receive an offer. I pointed out that the 'offer' is what I have been paying them for the past 10 months. They say that they need it again in writing from Payplan and by now, I am well over £2500 worse off than I was last August despite paying regularly. The letter they sent in response to my letter didn't answer the letter I sent and they told me to phone a number for Financial Management which is constantly busy. I sat for about 15 minutes hanging up and redialling on the redial button as well as trying sporactically throughout the day.
They have offered me refinancing twice now and got shirty when I didn't respond but did seem to accept that my agreement didn't allow refinancing.
I am getting so discouraged as everybody else is playing ball.LBM August 2005 £40,000

There is a theme going on here. I have experienced just about all the tactics mentioned by the others here. I think that Lloyds TSB are being obstructive. The only time I got some form of agreement out of them was after I sent a recorded delivery budget & letter to request freezing of interest, they phoned and threatened to pass my case to a collection agency. When I said yes please and asked who they would be using they backtracked a bit and said they would phone back the next day. They did and told me they would accept reduced payments for a limited period.
My biggest worry at the moment is that Lloyds TSB claim not have received 3 payments from PayPlan.
I find that keeping in regular phone contact with Lloyds TSB keeps them happy but is essentially pointless, it's like peeing into the wind but not as refreshing. They say "we have not been paid", I reply "PayPlan say they have paid you", they say get "PayPlan to ring us", I say "I will contact PayPlan" who tell me Lloyds TSB have told them not to phone them. At this point things get a bit circular.
