Marriage during bankruptcy.

Hi all,

I'm sorry if this has been covered before but i'm having trouble finding exactly the information i need.

I was declared bankrupt on the 4th of June this year, and was married on the 8th. (cutting it fine i know).

I would obviously like to take my partners surname, and fully intend to, i just need to know if when i do it will affect his credit rating. We have no financial ties at all and do not intend to until the bankruptcy is long gone from my credit file.

Ive read various articles some say when my name is changed on my bank account, because we have the same surname and address it will automatically create a link? I can't see how.

Others say it is only if you have financial ties i.e a joint account or mortgage i assume.

If anybody can give me the answer or point me in the right direction i'd be very greatful!

Thanks

Nikki.

No, it will not create a link or harm his file.

    Congratulations on your wedding!

I went bankrupt the day after you, I can't believe it's been 6 weeks already! How have you been finding things? I am getting zero phone calls or letters, it's so strange after the barrage I have had over the last year!
