    Just seen this hubby works for the company that supports Acers in this country and there are major problems with the system board on these models so make sure there is a good warranty period on them first! Parts are hard to come by too.

    Warranty is 12 months and then there's the Sale of Goods Act after that as well, so not really a concern.

    Can your hubby tell us what the mobo in these is then?

    Also NO forum post complaining of this problem that I can find, which is unusual as people are more likely to complain than praise.

    Then again, my last car was supposed to be a bag of poo in terms of reliability, yet I covered 120,000 miles in less than four years without a breakdown!
