Has anyone sold a Facebook page?

I have a Facebook page with 70,000 likes that I never or have used. a friend mentioned selling it as her husband bought his business page as it already had lots of 'likes'
Does anyone know how I would go about it?
Thanks

Surely it depends on what the page is about. Have you tried monetizing the page if you have all those likes?

I am pretty sure I could get a load of likes by putting one of those pages up with pictures of fluffy kittens, semi naked men or women etc. You can even buy likes if you wanted to.

At the end of the day, it would depend on the content of the page and whether anyone could monetize the page.

So, what is the page about? Have you known anyone to buy anything through Facebook?

Well all that can be changed in the settings so it can be about anything you want

for $500 I can get you 70,000 'likes' before sundown - they're meaningless.

I have never got this practice at all.

If I had a brand/company/product/service/business page on Facebook then why would you not want to organically grow likes for people who want/will likely buy from you.

I am sure having 1000 proper likes will be better than 10000 fake likes?

Clearly if you are struggling to get your brand known/product known, I can see why you may want to buy likes, but how is this different to just buying advert space on facebook - where you can really market to your demographic trarget market?

Does that not mean the OP's page is worth $500 ? :p

Just because some black hat guy says he can get 70k likes before sundown, doesnt devalue your posts. we just have a cranky ego head on our hands

It TOTALLy depends on who your 70k likes are. They are only worth money to a business if they comprise a similar stereotype - and are thus a buyinng pool.

If it's all sorts of people then that makes it worth less, as you can't target content at them with huge success.

What's the page, so we can take a look and give you better advice?

How do you get that many likes if the page has never been used?

and why would you not ask the person who bought one how they bought it?

think it may have been a thinly veiled attempt to advertise perhaps?

He bought it off ebay apparently.

It's a Mr Blobby page lol! I probably made it around 2009 and forgot about it after a while. It was the first one hence the likes.

thats only really gonna work for someone that wants to monetise blobby related stuff - not sure if there are many people wanting to do that!
