Please whoft me a bit of luck!

Hi Everyone,

Im not saying I deserve a win anymore than anyone else in this forum but It would be great timing to have a little windfall....:D

We took our little boy to a helmet clinic yesterday that treat for Plagiocephaly and we hoped his measurements were gonna be moderate at the most. However he falls halfway up the server catagory so we have decided to go with treatment that is going to cost us £2000, after weeks of repositioning and osteopathy having little effect....on top of that we need to replace our car as it died!!

so a little bit of luck whofting this way would be very much appreciated :)

xx

Just read your blog hun, my son has sagittal craniosynostosis and is due for cranial vault reconstruction surgery in a month or so. I know exactly how you feel about the worries about what happens if you don't treat it. Have you thought about doing some fund raising or the possibility of a justgiving page? I'm sure your friends and family would be willing to help out. Also although it deals mainly with craniosynostosis theres the Headlines group on facebook for support :)

Sending you loads of luck and hoping you manage to get funds soon x

    Aww thanks :)

My other half is actually really excited at raising some cash - He loves riding so he is going to do a sponsered ride with a friend of his. Im also gonna try and hold a raffle all the usual stuff. Will contact the local paper to see if we can raise some interest/awareness that way.

I have a bit to put towards it and the grandparents also, so its not that bad....its just frustrating its the same month we finally decided to replace the car, but we cant drive around in my little Tigra anymore, its too dangerous with me squashed in the back!

Sagittal craniosynostosis sounds horrible :( I hope it all go smoothly for you and your family. I have found it so frustrating the lack of help and support through the Health Visitors and GPs in my area, was your diagnosis relatively easy? X

Our GP pointed out my son had no soft spot and a long narrow skull at his 6 week check, all of which I already knew, plus a bony ridge I did research and determined he had sagittal. The gp referred us to a paediatrician which took 3 months he did xrays and confirmed sagittal and referred us to a craniofacial team which took another 2 months, then he had to have psychological/development assessments and see an ophthalmologist before we could be given a date for surgery, he was due to have the CVR on the 13th June but his pre-op bloods showed problems with blood clotting and so his op was cancelled and he was referred to haematology and diagnosed with haemophilia A so it's been an awesome journey so far lol. We are just waiting to be booked back in for surgery now.

It's great that you have some family support and that it won't be too much of a difficulty but it is sod's law about the car your right. I hope your OH enjoys his ride and you manage to raise plenty with your raffle. You could always try writing to local companies etc and ask if they could donate some prizes. Maybe a local restaurant could donate a meal for 2 etc. You never know until you ask.
