Aldi are selling Tevion DVD recorders from next Thursday 28th April for £109.99. (Sorry can't find a link) Are they rubbish? Don't really understand the blurb but I'll copy it out.
DVD+R, +RW Recorder
NTSC and PAL playback
Plays all DVD formats plus DVD-VIDEO, VCD, CD, MP3, CD-R, CD-RW
Variable speed and zoom with real time playback
DV input for camcorders, S-Video, AV input
SCART cable included
Lots of other inputs and outputs!
Remote control
LED display
The cheapest I have seen elsewhere is this: http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/content/products/details/html/BNI-1000R.htm
Can anyone recommend them?

I think Tevion are made by the same people who make the Medion computers (which Aldi also often sell). Bought one of those a while ago and was well impressed as far as value for money goes.
Saying that, also got one of those weird joypad things for Christmas, which was a Tevion, and that broke fairly quickly.
So no help there then0 -
Hi Daisy. As this is not really a Grabbit bargain with the one at Empire Direct being cheaper, I'm moving this to Shop but don't drop where I'm sure people will be able to help with your query.0

Daisy seems good value as was £119 last time.
Aldi and Lidl sell Tevion and Medion products which are well made and usually have 3 yr guarantees. They are German companies who import stuff to their spec from China like everyone else does.
There is a lot of info in German on updates and region free hacks, but also a lot of US importers use the same microchips made by a firm called Sampo. They use Philips DVD+ technology.
This US site AREA 450 has a lot of info :- Home http://www.area450.com/index.html
or search for Tevion here

Redfox This is a grabbit post really on the WSL basis. Each store will have only around 10 to 20 for sale and they will be gone by 10am on the 18th
