My dad is looking to get a loan, and due to unfortunate credit ratings, he has been 'lucky' enough to be accepted by the above. However, I have heard rather unsettling things about them. I was wondering if anyone else has any advice. My dad needs a break, so I'm hoping its all rumor.
Any help would be great, thanks

Whether or not they're any good, he is likely to be charged a very high interest rate.
What does he need the loan for? If he has a poor credit rating, it sounds like he might not be good at managing debts and more debt could get him into more trouble. We can give some debt management tips if you feel able to let us have a little more information. You are anonymous, hereWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Friend of my partner's secured her house against a loan taken out with Wentworth.
She got herself into all sorts of trouble with various creditors. Wentworth were not the worse she dealt with, though she had taken out insurance with them that they did not honour.
Their rates were high. There would have been no problems if she had kept paying.

Try typing 'Wentworth Direct Finance' into Google and see what you get about them.
I found this http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff138617.htm0 -
I saw that Big Butts, but there's only one person complaining and it seems to be about the application process.
Agree though - Google and see what else it throws upWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Think twice before directing people to the ripoff reports. According to many sources the ripoff report is an extortion racket whereby the owner Ed Magesden encourages the public to use extreme words like fraudsters, cheats and liars. Once he receives a complaint he then waits for the company to respond and then asks for a large fee to remove the offending and normally unsubstantiated report. If he were in the UK he would probably be arrested for crimial libel. If you search the guy on the internet you can find his FBI Criminal Record. You can also find the various writs that have been issued around the World. There is a $20,000 reward for anyone who knows his whereabouts.0

Are you sure you are talking about the correct company. Wentworth Direct Finance do not and never have dealt with secured loans. As they are brokers they cannot offer loan insurance. Are you sure that it is not another company.
Wentworth Direct Finance are not responsible for the interest rates. the lenders are. They probably are quite high but they are unsecured. The best place for a loan is nearly always your own bank.0
