What's this got to do with discount vouchers and codes?

Apart from that I don't really see the point of just reading the front page of a newspaper. With that website, if you want to read anymore then you have to pay.....

Newspapers have offers for FREE items - such as toys, plants or cinema tickets.
This could be by entering a code into a website, or cutting out a coupon and taking it into store/cinema etc...
They also have vouchers which offer discounts - eg 20% off purchases as Debenhams/Boots etc
They also have offers to collect tokens towards a cheap holiday...
Rather than having several threads running on different areas of MSE, we find having one main thread here for ALL newspaper offers works well.
Some days/weeks there are loads of vouchers and codes and freebies, other times nothing....
But we all keep watching and hoping

    Perhaps this may help explain...
This is the layout of the old 'opening' post....

Please post here if you get any of today's newspapers or have the chance to look through one.
Please tell us if any of them contain coupons or freebies or vouchers OR NOT !

    Important details are:
    The cost of the newspaper
Whether it's a regional edition - SOME OFFERS MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE NATIONWIDE
    Page number
    Expiry date of the voucher
Whether it's store specific and has a barcode (POST the BARCODE NUMBER if possible)

Remember if you go shopping look in as many newspapers as you can.
Post even if you don't see any coupons, and mention any offers that you see.

Below you'll find a list of the abbreviations and how to interpret them.

    MOC - Money Off Coupon
Bc - Barcode, good chance of universal scan
bc - only selected stores scan
    Xwrd - Crossword
    PUZ - Puzzle
    T#3 - Token 3
T2collect - Token 2 Collect (generally you have to collect numerous tokens to get the offer)

Lets hope todays a good one for coupons

Personally it helps me if someone posts that a certain paper doesn't have offers in it as it saves me the trip to the newsagents to see if there's an offer in it.
I'd rather know there wasn't an offer than the chance that someone's not checked that specific paper today.

Also the Telegraph has a "Free Kindle Fire" on offer if you want to subscribe to their paper:

£8 a week [for the papers and web access]

  • I guess you can't please everyone.

Personally, I like to have a quick look at the newspaper headlines and offers which appear on the cover. It saves me getting in peoples way when I go to the newsagent.

I've been following this thread for years.
Big Thanks to Nudge and others for all the useful additional info.
