letter saying to be arrested and mistaken identity!!!

we have called up the council to let them know that they have obviously again got my partner's identity wrong (partner says this is about 4 times in last few years). the name is not quite the same and we dont have a car as they describe but they seem to be giving his parents address. The council say we have to come in and fill in forms. I think this is getting beyond a joke and i wonder if we can claim any compensation as this really shaken me up this time. They apologised last time but obviously people at the council dont seem to update any files or anything. it is not even our local council.

any chance you could give a few more details? what is the arrest for?!
i'd write notes every time you speak to someone at the council - get their name, the time and date and a summary of what you were told. that should make it easier to complain.
