hi folks heres my question do i realy need a solicitor to complete a transfer of equity? i want to put my name on my partners mortgage there is no money changing hands so why should i have to pay them upto 400 quid just to fill in a few forms god i hate spending money unnecesserily:mad: this may have been posted before but i couldnt find waht i needed so any help would be great thanks

im in the same situation ive contacted the land registry and there sending out some information for me! my advice is to ring them and see what the situation is0

you need a solicitor to ensure that your names are added to the deeds correctly and that you are aware of what you are doing to ensure that you cannot claim "I didn't realise that I was responsible for the debt" if it ever came down to it.

There are forms on the LR website regarding transfer of equity etc., for both when the property is sold, and when you just want to transfer without money changing hands.
To be honest, I do not fully understand the legal jargon in the forms. Given the importance of this issue, I would use a solicitor.In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0
