Sun lotion stain help!

Just gone to iron my new white top and noticed sun lotion stains visible. It's 95% cotton 5% elastaine. Any ideas how to remove the stain please.

  • Soaking in Milton solution has worked for me in the past. I suppose it might depend on what sun cream it is as to whether it works? Should be ok to try on a mostly cotton, white top. I've heard Napisan solution also works, but I've never tried it.
    Good luck.

A little bit of fairy liquid on the stain works as it breaks down the grease in the sun cream. Then just wash as usual.

If it's Riemanns, do not use bleach or any other chlorine based product - it turns the stained area pink (I know this from experience!). Soak overnight in a neat solution of Vanish pre wash liquid (or any other peroxide based solution) and then wash as normal. It may need repeat treatments.
