Hello there, just doing some catching up.
So you have set a target date for a move - hope everything goes well. I'll look forward to reading all the news !Early retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0 -
I am with you on Rose Elliott, GP, my dad gave me a copy of her finest work when I left for uni over 20 years ago  and it still is a battered copy I turn to for basics..and not just veggie ones. The Homity Pie I made last week that wasn't really Homity Pie
but with Use Ups was based on her pastry recipe for example.

Good Morning :hello:
Hi Goldiegirl - lovely to see you again
Ay up brizzle - was that RE's 'Complete Vegetarian'? There was an 'updated' version printed a couple of years back (with a drawing of a globe artichoke on the front I think)and there seemed to be some criticism that the 'new complete vegetarian' wasn't as good as the original. However, it'd be a pretty comprehensive tome - better if you could pick up a copy 2nd hand or something
So Tuesday. Right, normally I would be buying the TV guide, but it'd waste a NSD so I'll leave it until tomorrow/Thursday, by which time we will need milk and bananas again. NSD here I come!
Pasta and tomato/veg sauce was on the planner for this evening, but I'm going to substitute - most likely for a Buddha bowl (a dish comprising grain, vegetable, protein and sauce - said to be named/inspired after the practice of buddist monks receiving 'alms' or bits of food from a range of followers- but as has been pointed out here, it is in fact a posh way of dressing up 'leftovers'
:rotfl:)
Right, best get up and at 'em.
Have a great day one and allThank you so much for reading, commenting and dropping by. I'm greatly appreciative
See y'all later.

Buddha bowl! I've never heard the phrase, but I love it
As for books, I'm always desperate to get rid of them, but some are just too pretty to let go - or they're so comprehensive, it'd be crazy to get rid of hard copy of all that information.
Keep working towards 30 November - I've got a schedule in mind of my own, it helps to gee me along to think of others doing it. My neighbour, a 12 - 13 hours a day outside-the-house commuter, is one example for me, but more examples is always good2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
My neighbour, a 12 - 13 hours a day outside-the-house commuter...
Yikes KC - those are LONG days!
Your comment though has suddenly put some things into perspective for me! I'm currently at 11 hours out of the house... with a real need for 8 hours sleep, this leaves 1.5 hours in the morning to get ready & 3.5 hours in the evening to get things done & unwind! Not much time TBH!!!
Perhaps I'll be a little less harsh on myself about the occaisional unswept floor or clean cloths that havn't made it into the cupboard!
Also thinking that a small re-evaluation of what is done with that limited time might be in order!

Hmmm - sorry GP multiquote definately non-functional today!
GP - are you both fully veg? - My OH is a definate carnivore, but I prefer not to partake in meat as much as possible! I've taken to giving him a chop on the side, and making the mainstay of the meal a veggie dish. So far only the veggie lasagna & veggie pasta bakes seem to appeal to him as a vegetarian main meal. He tells me he doesn't feel full on veggie meals! Wondering if it's the cheese that fills him up?
Back in the good old days (uni - when I was happily single;)) I was 95% veggie & pretty much used the Moosewood Low-Fat Veggie cookbook as my cooking bible! Every recipe always turned out perfectly! - but as you said, the mainstay receipes amounted to about 6 of them!:rotfl:4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Wow you're really setting your house in order! Both metaphorically and actually. Impressed! It does help having goals with landmark dates, but a little flexibility wouldn't go amiss if necessary. Not sure about using me as a role model though
but thank you anyway, I'm very flattered.

Positive vibes for St Andrews Day next year being in yer new pad.
Goodluck lady. We've a lax plan for 'off' before next July - which as I'm renting doesn't really mean anything but DD leaves school before that and I can't bear to live away from my Rock God for much longer.
As for whether I'll end up at his pad or a new house, he thinks' the latter, I think realistically (like a few have said) its more likely to be that we move down to his flat and fathom our next move.
I'll need storage if we end up dans le rock cave, but that's OK.
Goodluck lovely lass and the mister who's there too to help with your penchant for moving heaving items for fun.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Good Evening :hello:Strange which comments jog the brain and provide lots of food for thought!
You are so right rtandon - hence why I love conversation so much.....
GP - are you both fully veg?
Yes rtandon - we don't eat meat or fish. DP has never been a big eater of meat or fish - texture thing. I gave up meat first and then fish - not for any ethical reasons or anything, I just gave it up for another inconsequential reason and have not gone back. I have now been veggie longer than I was a meat eater. However, I do not examine every ingredient of everything I eat (but do try to limit processed foods if I can), and HYPOCRITE that I am, I do buy the occasional packet of marshmallows to top our hot chocolate in the winter. And yes, Dear Reader, of course I am aware they have beef gelatin* in themThere you are, exposed as a fraud on a chilly Tuesday in December
See, I had a Mollie Katzen book and never got on with it, so sent it to a charity shop - but I love Scheherazade casserole, which is one of hers, so go figure? I remember my first veggie cookbook was one by Colin Spencer - as if the fact of owning a veggie cookbook made you veggie - I never cooked a thing out of it! :rotfl:Pippilongstocking wrote: »Positive vibes for St Andrews Day next year being in yer new pad.

I'll accept all the positive vibes I am offered. I had a wobbly moment today. In my best Margo Leadbetter voice (Christmas episode), 'I don't want to be a property developer and I don't want to be a landlord
' Needs must I guess
And :rotfl: to the heaving for fun - he did have to stop moaning on Sunday, as I did as much as him and wasn't flagging half as much - think he's feeling his age
So today. Well, got me a NSD :j Didn't find any roadkill
Dinner this evening was a Buddha bowl. Certainly not the most appetising looking plate of food, but the taste was ok. The grain is the last of the millet - bought when on offer in H&B. Then there are spicy chipotle aduki beans in a tomato sauce, a one-egg omelette topped with a spinach yoghurt sauce and toasted sesame seeds. The yoghurt sauce split, i'm not sure if it was because I wasn't constantly stirring it, or whether it is because I didn't put an egg in. But it came back together with a bit of cornflour and whilst I won't win masterchef, the taste was good.
Picture;
Another 'use up' dish. And the portions were modest - those are the soup dishes, rather than dinner plates.
Right, as it sounds like himself is nurturing a case of 'man-flu' I'd best be out of here to take up the nursing role once more..... :rotfl:
Today I am grateful for these three things;
stimulating conversation - cos who knows where it may lead?
Jacques Offenbach, his 'Can Can' and Radio 3 - he wrote it, they broadcast it and I managed the high(ish) kicks, but not the splits, whilst cooking dinner:T
for what I have - because I know it can be taken away in a split second.
Thank you so very much for popping by, reading and commenting. I do appreciate it greatly - and on 'wobble' days, it helps me immensely. So thank YOU
See y'all later.
