Good Evening :hello:
Hello Dear Reader - and thank you so much all the kind folk who took the time to wish me and DP happy hollibonts - I am so touched by your thoughtfulness.
It'll be brief from me this evening, as we've not long got in after a long drive, and I'd better get some sustenance on the table. Hopefully it will be using some courgettes that we picked up from a fruit farm/PYO place on the way home. I also picked up a lemon from there, I know we're going through global warming and all, but I suspect that they didn't grow them, themselvespretty much grew any other type of fruit or veggie though
We've had a great time. The weather was variable - for us and the rest of the UK by the sound...... however, we did 'everything' that we set out to do, the only thing that we didn't do was some walking on Tuesday after visiting a local farmers market, because the weather was a bit too foul. However, we changed tack - and coastlines, went to a national trusty industrial heritage site and had a ball - and probably walked just as much and got a 'windswept and interesting hair' about us...well, me really - DP not so much................:D
We kept in budget, and out of £89 spending money have brought £14 back - and no Dear Reader - I've not signed up to the MSE equivalent of 'I can go on a thrupenny holiday and come back wi' fourpence ha'penny' challenge! We bought what we needed and the only thing that I'd budgeted for, but we didn't buy was a 'chip' dinner last night. We'd had a super day and were both so tired from all the sun and lashings of sea-air, that DP just wanted to get back to the van and relax, rather than negotiate anymore windey country lanes down to a 'secret cove'. We made do with a veggie curry whipped up from sainsbugs basics ingredients - £2.20 for us both and there's most of a packet of rice leftWe've als0 £20 of the fuel budget left, but as the 'beeper' started about 2 miles from home, that £20 will get used up tomorrow.
In other news, the gardening parental went in unexpectedly for their op whilst we were away. All went well.
Right, I've wittered on far too much. Best go.
It's good to be back, and even better after a successful hols. Time to refocus on the 'Key fund' now.......well, maybe tomorrow
Thank you for reading, commenting and joining in. I greatly appreciate it.
See y'all later.
