You're strategy is fine if all those stores are close together or you like walking otherwise it's either a lot of chasing around or the savings are outweighed by the money you spend on petrol.

Hi Tallu. Your normal shopping list is nothing like mine. There is only one item on there which I would buy, and that is toilet bleach, which is 39p at our B & M or Home Bargains.

I cherry pick my shopping from different places, but only because they are not far from where I live, and I can easily get round the stores in one trip.

Dog and cat food from the pet store in the market or special offers at any supermarket. Cleaning stuff from Home Bargains or B & M. Fresh veg from Tesco or Aldi. I buy Basics and Value brands.

I'm just off shopping now, to get the yellow stickers at Tesco.

I shop around but don't go to all the stores every week. So, for example, I'll go to Farmfoods occasionally when I want fish and frozen veg and while I'm there I'll get other things but it's really not worth a special trip just to save 40p on milk.

I like Sainsbury's Tu scented candles. The pillar ones and those in jars are reduced at the moment to £2 but I think they're probably clearing stock ready for Autumn ranges. I'm saving all the stubs to have a go at making my own.

My usual shop is Aldi followed by Sainsbury's for a few branded favourites. That's the cheapest trip in terms of fuel use too.

I have an iceland near to me and have being buying a loaf of Burgen bread in there and 4 pints of milk for a pound each for ages.1 loaf does me for a week as I don't eat a lot of bread and usually freeze it in portions and a 4 pinta is more than enough for me for around at least a week.Good Idea for a thread though .few poundland places close by although if I go to Hempstead Valley shopping precinct I there is one there that I get delicious coconut chocolate macaroons from for a quid. But I have to be getting other shopping as well to warrant going there.

we don't have a BM store in the region never mind the nearest town, we do now have a ££ shop that's opened up but half the time it's more expensive then some of the deals in the local supermarket.

Neutradol- £1 in Poundland, not worth buying anywhere else and nothing else will neutralise the pongs after the males of the species being in the loo!
Smiths Favourites (Bacon & Scampi fries, slightly addicted)- 99p B&M...£2 odd in Morries!
B & M also scented candles, if you buy the M & M's or Skittles ones they burn really well and have really strong scents for 99p.
Biscuits- Definitely Farmfoods, they do boxes of what they call "broken biscuits", chocolate ones are just under 3 quid, I have never found them to be "broken" just mishapes, and all foxes or cadburys, don't bother buying DH packets of penguins etc now, just one of those boxes and a stash of food bags for his pack ups! Those save me a fortune!!

Home Bargains is ideal for cleaning products, cat food, noodles, pasta in sauces, pasta sauces, toilet roll, kitchen roll, food bags etc. I do find the cereal a bit expensive sometimes (kellogs) as Asda more or less has the big boxes of branded cereals on offer for £2 most of the time. So I buy branded cereal on offer. I work at Home Bargains so can use my staff discount on these items which make them a bit less for me. So I tend to stock up sometimes.

    Great thread idea !

ASDA - cheapest place for organic tinned tomatoes, organic Extra Virgin olive oil, organic Weetabix and has ASDA Chosen By You Eco-Friendly product range which is cheaper than Ecover.
Lidl - cheapest place for prosciutto, organic Fairtrade bananas and often organic carrots too plus my first choice for cheap but good quality plants
    99p Stores - 6 kitchen rolls for 99p - unbeatable !
Wilkinson - often cheapest for Ecover

For what we buy Sainsbury's always turns out cheaper overall even if the odd item costs more than elsewhere. They went through what I can only call an expensive phase a few months ago but now they have put a lot of the prices for items we buy down to their level over a year ago. Xx
