Non UK (but now living in the UK) Loan?
Hi All!
I wonder if anyone can help me.. my girlfriend is from sweden but she now lives with me here in the UK. She has a National Insurance number as requested by here current job and a full HSBC bank account.
She would like to apply for a small loan (1k) to purchase a car for work but alot of the loan people say you need to be living in the UK for over 3 years?
Is this just the case or would she be able to get one of these 'bad credit loans' or just get a car using finance instead of the money?
Any help would be great.
Regards
Rich

Can you lend her the £1000 ?
I know it goes against the "lending money to friends" topic above, but £1000 isn't a large issue, and you could put the car into your name as collateral if it went wrong?0 -
hmm well i dont think i can really.. my credit isnt very good and i dont have that money laying around plus she would like to have her own money just incase something happens ya-know!0

Could she talk to her employers and ask them for the loan?
If she explains her circumstances they might be willing to give her a hand...0 -
Hi again,
Well she hasnt been working there very long and doesnt really want to involve them.. I guess if it's not possible then ok but would be nice to find it in some writing!
PS. tried asking the bank for an overdraft but they said she hasnt had the account long enough.. but she did say her credit would be ok/fair as she got offered a full bank account and sometimes it only offers you a basic one.
Thanks again!0
