I am leaving the school where I teach next week.
I have lots of good friends I work with there.
I want to get something memorable and long lasting for the people who have supported me in my career, but lack inspiration.
I can only think of pretty shiny things for them.
3 ladies in particular who I want to thank, in their 50s. Budget £15-£20 each.
Any ideas? Pllleeeeaaaasssseeee!!!!

Not an easy one is it? I never know what I want when anyone askes for ideas for birthday or Christmas for me so I am probably the worst person to comment, I will give it a go with a bracelet or necklace perhaps?0

When I left my last job it was christmas time so I bought each of my colleagues a special tree ornament - so they'd remember me each year - not that that helps you as its the wrong time of tear :-)Light travels faster than sound - that's why you can see someone who looks bright until they open their mouth.0

Have they got gardens? Perhaps a plant, so when they see it, will remember you.0

Wow that's a hard one I reckon maybe you could ask the 3 special friends around/take out for a meal maybe, as for the rest it may sound a bit daft but maybe a good kettle for the staff room - one of those flash ones where you push a button and get one cup of water (iykwim).
Failing that just a thankyou and a hug.

If they're gardeners then a plant (perennial or a tree, not an annual obviously!) would be a lovely gift.
When I left my last job there were a couple of people in particular who had been really supportive and I bought them each a personal gift. One lady I got a pretty leather bound notebook to help her in studying because she was on a lower grade and was trying to work her way up to my old role (she used to come to me with questions/for advice so I told her if she had something to query she could keep a note of it and then get in touch and I'd try to help) and the other I bought a bangle like these (not the set, an individual one that had a phrase appropriate for her): http://www.lisaangel.co.uk/Set-Meaningful-Words-Multi-Bangles?keyword=set%20ban
I really like lisa angel for girly gifts - the stuff is really nice, has a personal feel about it and looks fantastic for the prices (especially with the current sale!) and the service is very good.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
A nice house plant they can take home or brighten up their classroom. Or as others have said invite them round for a nice meal and some wine. Nicely written card? Flowers always go down well but don't last long.2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013
