Virgin Media new V+ prices

I am an existing VM customer & would like to have V+ installed. Virgin's new prices from 1/6 are: £150 one off charge for box and installation, no monthly fee after that. This is the advertised deal, and when I rang up that is what I was offered, they were not open to negotiation! It would also be an additional £5 per month to have existing box in another room. Has anyone been offered a better deal since 1/6? Or any general opinions about how this compares with sky? Thanks in advance

Unfortunately we can't get Sky where i live as its a grade II listed, however i got the V+ box when they came out for Free Box and £10 a month fee. £150 is okay if you intend to stick with them for more than 15 months.... The service seems good and its the best HD box on the market in terms of how many programs it can record at a time and Hard Disk Size. But no Sky One or Sky HD.

Apparently they're giving Sky+ free to new customers. Worth checking out

I had a V+ box when it came out and kept the old box and put it in the bedroom. All ok so far BUT if i was to pay £100 for the box (as on XL TV) and as I have a deal for life for all Virgin (phone, broadband,tv,V+box ) would i get £10 a month taken off my for life bill per month or still pay the same price? Has anyone else in the same situation tried this yet?

If you already have a v plus and pay £100 on credit or debit card they will drop the v plus charge on the XL tv pack (any lower pack its £5 month after that £100 payment). The only deal this does not apply to is their VIP pack which is good value anyway and sold as a pack.

Big note here is that the v plus charges are not guarenteed for life but if they change the price you do have a right to get out of your contract. DO NOT believe anyone at VM who states its for life.
