Self Employed - Employed on Supply Only - Advice please

Hi,
I've been working self employed this financial year and have exceeded the personal allowance of £9,440 by £2k.
I have now found a position doing part time (16hrs) supply work on an employed basis so they will be taxing and deducting NI at source. Problem is i'm already over the allowance from my self employed work but my p45 when i give it to my new employer has no earnings on it, so they will automatically assume that they shouldn't deduct and tax or NI.
Do i just tell my new employer to tax all my earnings?
Many thanks.

Without a P45 you will need to complete either a P46 or the new Starter Checklist that has replaced the P46 for those employers using RTI. Neither form includes any information about previous earnings, so HMRC will decide on the appropriate tax code and that's what your new employer will use to tax you. You cannot decide how your earnings are taxed. I suspect you will need to carry on under SA for a year or two until your self employment has worked its way out of the system.
