Won Prize, never received, not bothered chasing

Have you ever won something, but not bothered chasing it?

I won a dress back in January from a blogger, but after numerous emails and being told my details were passed onto the PR company - I've given up...

Anyone else had a similar experience? Do you think they have the prize and just fob you off? :)

Love to hear if you've ever given up something expensive as the hassle is just too much?? xx

Stay lucky! x

I won with a blogger and never received the prize too! She kept saying she had attempted to chase it up with the PR company but after months of chasing, I just emailed her to say 'look - forget it!' I stopped following her blog as I felt she was not bothered about the prize not reaching me after I had tweeted daily via rafflecopter for a month and liked/followed the sponsors etc! All the effort was there from my end but none from hers! It wasn't hugely expensive - but a lovely toiletry set during the advents. I was going to give it to my Mother for Mother's day but when it passed Mother's Day - that was when I gave up!

I still enter blog comps but stick to the bloggers I know and have gotten to like and trust.
:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea

Was that from a company or a blogger?

There are some large/company bloggers but most are small and tend to pass on samples etc they have been given and I doubt if many of them are that bothered if they are chased up for a prize or not and are quite happy to ignore people.

I won an Instyler hair brush thingymabob from their Facebook page around 2 years ago, I spent the best part of 6 months chasing them up. Was met with excuses then they stopped responding to my emails and deleted my posts on their Facebook wall.

I was a novice back then and should had taken it further (not so much that I wanted the item desperately but because they were sneaky and never sent it!)

They even deleted the winner announcement from their page too.

For a relatively well established brand I was very disappointed.

I also occasionally note my name on the Glamour mag dailies winners roll and am yet to ever receive anything from them x

Yes, as I just posted on the previous thread, I won tickets to a show that got cancelled, politely asked promoters if anything else would be offered, after a while they offered me some (pretty useless and specific) vouchers, but these never materialised - I was so peed off with the whole experience and with their attitude that I never bothered chasing again.
  • I actually won a Family Annual Pass to Sealife with Netmums, but the promoters weren't particularly helpful in providing details and every time I phoned Sealife in London (where I was supposed to collect the passes) they had no idea what I was talking about! They also insisted on new passport photos of each of us, and it turned out the passes were not even valid for the London one, which is the closest one to us, so as I was having a steady stream of good wins last summer I decided I couldn't be bothered to chase it up anymore. Not sure how much they were worth, but I guess a fair bit.

Ironically, last month I won an Annual Merlin family pass anyway, which includes the London Aquarium et al...mwah-ha-ha! :D

A Cath Kidston "VIP" factory visit to include cream tea, two personalised mugs and a hamper of yogurt . I got e-mails outlining the visit from the pr company but whoever was supposed to be organising it at the factory must never read any messages at all.

Several DVDs, some suntan mousse from Glamour mag and a pair of baby's swim pants.

+ I've had tickets arrive for events that have already happened.

I try not to get excited or tell anyone I've won something until a prize actually arrives. Haven't won anything big though - I'd probably be much more anxious if I did.
