Supply Teaching and tax

Hi,
I am starting supply teaching in September and to maximize the chances of getting work day to day I want to sign up for 2/3 different agencies but I'm confused to how this would work for tax, because although it would be 3 different agencies it would be ad hoc on a weekly basis who I would be working the most for, would I have to pay more tax for the '2nd' and '3rd' agencies?

This is one area where Real Time Information should help, in the past HMRC would typically make a right mess of your situation and end up asking you for a load of tax with menaces.
Now each of your employers will submit a return to HMRC against your NI number each month. So even if you are a bit over-taxed or under-taxed in a given month, it should end up sorting itself out within a month or two.
That's the theory. I suspect the database will collapse under the sheer mass of data coming its way, but that's how it's supposed to work.Hideous Muddles from Right Charlies0 -
I worked for an agency (Nursing) and on the Bank at 2 other places. I chose the Agency job to be my main job, and got a tax code for that. The other jobs I paid 20%. Still got a big tax rebate this year.
I have always phoned up the HMRC and talked to someone. They have always been helpful.0
