I've been having a hard time recently myself and know that a lot of others have also been feeling this way so I've decided that we need to have a challenge of sorts to boost our positivity which will give us a renewed energy to bust those debts!
The idea (and this is open to suggestions from others) is that I'll start up a daily thread where we'll post one thing we are doing to boost our positivity. Obviously this does not need to be debt or financially related. It could be something as simple as phoning an old friend we haven't spoken to in a while or fixing that dodgy floorboard that's been bugging for a while, reorganising the kitchen to make things flow easier and hence cutting back on stress etc etc etc Although these things aren't by themselves cutting back on our debts or helping financially they are helping to make our lives easier and make us feel that we have made a positive achievement in our day and to our lives in general.
good morning darling dfw's. well done to all who did positive things yesterday, that was a very happy thread I'm pleased to say!
here's todays challenge; can we do it a second day????
today I have just gotten off the phone to sky who took two payments from me to get the credit balance refunded to me so I can pay my bills this month and hence not stress about where my money is coming from!
I've also been to the docs for my test results, seems most are 'normal' tho very close to the non-normal! I've been given iron tablets to help (he said my hair was in bad condition, made me

lets keep the smiles on folks

Morning LJ - I am tackling the tip of the iceberg that is my housework today! I am not expecting too much, that way I cannot build myself up for a fall, but I am doing the downstairs loo, the hall and the wash bins!
I am also going to do some exercise - at the very least walking to the post office but working up to going for a jog around the block.
I hope you have a fab day xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Today I will....
Feel positive about my upcoming exams - rather than let them make me feel I'm not clever enough/generally bright/will fail etc, I am going to have positive thoughts about them, and look forward to the end of this week when I will be halfway through.
I will also be very excited that for the first time in nearly a year my overdraft is 3 figures and not 4!
Keep smiling everyoneMFW

Evening all
LJ - Well done on making that call to Sky :j I always put off calls like that, mainly 'cos the automated phone system thing drives me nuts and I want to scream "I just want to talk to a REAL person, not a robot"
Good news about the test results too - that is positive
Hypno - How did you get on with the housework and exercise ? Sounds like a step in the right direction
Storm - did you smile lots today ? Like thishopefully. I bet everyone has been wondering what you've been up to with a smile like that :rotfl:
boo81 - how did you get on with the new receipies ? The more yummy recipies I find, the fatter I get
redsquirrel80 - how did the distance learning research go ? I've been thinking of something similar myself and have looked on the OU website, but the courses are expensive and finances don't stretch that far at the moment. I'd be interested to know if you've found some reasonable priced courses.
atypicalblonde - well done on the 3 figure overdraft  Great news. Hope you've had loads of positive feelings about your exams today
queenbess - congrats on your anniversary and your holiday savings :j
I promised myself I would shower as soon as I got in from work and I did :j Please note that it's not that I don't like to shower but I tend to come in from work and have tea, then get watching telly and then more telly, then come on here, then go to bed very late which means I shower very late too. Feel much better when I shower straight after work 'cos it livens me up. I also promised I would wash my patio chairs but I 'swapped' this task as DS had finally brought what seemed like 18 years worth of cups and plates out of his room and dumped them in the kitchen so I ended up washing those, which took ages so I don't feel too guilty about not scrubbing the patio chairs
I will post later when I've made my mind up about tomorrows positive challenge0 -

Tell me about it, I did some OU courses a few years back and the prices just keep going up - mind you, I was looking at their site earlier and noticed that you can now get your fees paid/ part-paid depending on your circumstances & income, which they never used to do... http://www3.open.ac.uk/courses/about/p6_1.shtml
Hmm, right, well I did read the booklets. I've got most of a degree and I'd really like to finish it off by distance learning - found one Uni which does exactly the modules I'd like but its part time courses have daytime lectures, which is impossible with work at the moment, but maybe possible in the future. I've sent off for a prospectus for somewhere else which does the degree by distance learning, but am not sure about their exemption for previous study policy, it reads like I'd have to repeat some work  Good thing about these is that I think I'd get at least some of my fees paid as per the thing on the OU site. Definitely worth looking into if you're thinking about doing something similar.
I did find some other courses in my subject as well, which are distance learning and at your own pace, but don't lead to a degree, and you have to pay for them... plus whatever I did I'd have to buy books... so in summary, I'm not a lot further forward!
But in the positive vein of this thread, it has made me think about doing something more with my evenings than just sitting in front of the computer and TV till bedtime, so I switched everything off for an hour and read something that actually made me think instead.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
