Barratt join in with the leap in sales and profits

Thanks to Help to Buy...
Housebuilder Barratt Developments says its full year profits will be stronger than expected, with the government's Help to Buy scheme boosting sales.

It said its sales rate was up 17.9% in the second half of its financial year, and up 34.7% since the launch of Help to Buy in April.

Barratt said full year pre-tax profits would be about £192m, "ahead of the top end of analysts' expectations".

The firm is the latest in the industry to report a boost from Help to Buy.
More proof that help to buy is simply lining the pockets of companies.

Companies make more profits when they can build and sell more houses. :)

Whatever will you come up with next Graham....

Well I think that this is good thing, would you prefer them to make a loss and have to lay people off?

I think that would appeal more to his innate sense of doom rather than it being viewed as another piece of positive economic news.

Good. Of course they are going to build loads more houses now because the demand is exceeding the supply aren't they.

Oh no, here we go again. :(

I suggest you stick to the doom mongering, shorty. Your forum detective skills are just not that good.

Oh right, we're back to that level of "debate" again are we? But, just to be clear (as I explained to GD when he accused me of being someone else because of my "style" of quoting). I have never been on this board before under any other name.

That's alright then. Because the J was a very strange character and didn't do the reputation of IFA's any good.
