Searching for employment in Poole.

I am posting the thread on behalf of a friend on mine who lives in Poole. He is currently searching for a job there and is finding it difficult to secure anything permenent as the past few jobs he has understaken have all been temporary and through an agency.

He has few to no qualifications and his skills are quite minimal as well but hes willing to work and has a good track record in several different positions in the past.

I am unfamiliar with the area but what are my friends options in relation to securing so form of permenent work, are there web sites he could go etc, I've mentioned gaining some more qualifications but with a family to support hes not interested in this at the moment.

Any help would be good, thanks.

there is a web site called fish4jobs.com where you could check any work available in various areas this might help.

    I live in Poole.

The biggest employers are Poole Council and Poole Hospital and both have their vacancies online. If he calls the hospital and asks to speak to the 'bank' in HR they look after all the temping throughout the hospital.

Bank of New York are moving about 200 staff into town at the moment.

The Daily Echo is the local newspaper for jobs on a Thursday and Saturday.

SOS recruitment seem quick off the mark to pick up on people applying for their jobs through their website.

We are also awash with branches of Tesco. The Tower Park one often has vacancies.

What does he do? There are always lots of customer service type jobs going. Liverpool Victoria on the Poole/Bournemouth border and Abbey Life both have farily large customer service centres.

If he wanted to work in Bournemouth, there will be loads of seasonal stuff going - and best to get in before the students finish for summer.
