Tesco clubcard and cafe rouge- report

Hi there,

Just to say I have been frequenting Cafe Rouge for the first time over the last few weeks and using my exchanged vouchers.

Been quite impressed with the food and service, especially as I have a LO.
Very child friendly:D Loads of high chairs.

Tesco does say that no drinks are included with the vouchers, non-alcoholic or alcoholic.

Cafe Rouge have taken vouchers for the full amount in 3 different venues, with drinks included!

Hope this helps.

The ones I have been to are Greenwich, Blackheath and Hays Galleria.

yeah that's exactly what happened to me too - they're not consistent in every venue so make sure you have some cash or credit/debit card to pay for the drinks just in case.

Personally I always find the service a little slow and unmotivated but if you go expecting this - you won't be disappointed.

The food is also not amazing in my opinion but for a visit once in a while I think it's ok. I am a vegetarian so am quite limited to only about 3 items on the menu.

    Hope that helps ;-)
you know when you're getting older - the wife says, "let's go upstairs and make love" and you reply, "I can't do both" !!

I was at a Cafe Rouge on Friday courtesy of Tesco (having just checked in to our deluxe room at a Hilton Hotel, also courtesy of Tesco ;)) and had a lovely sirloin steak, perfectly cooked. The staff were very friendly and service wasn't slow at all! My only complaint would be that the "frites" came already heavily salted (a bit like McDonalds). I'd definitely go again and would recommend it - though only if using Deals tokens!!

I have used my vouchers in the Litten Tree on a couple of occassions but the last three times i've been in:-

1 The chef hadn't turned up for work
    2 Only sandwiches available
3 The roof in the kitchen had leaked so due to health and safety no cooking could be done
But they do include the drinks with the vouchers and when they are cooking foods not to bad even if you have quite a long wait.

I have also been to the Slug and Lettuce for the Sunday roast, took quite a while to be served and not many people in the pub but pretty disappointed as my sons beef was a piece of fat and i had barely two mouthfulls of meat. I did point this out when they came to clear the table and they refunded the main meals so i just paid for the deserts and drinks with the vouchers.

Must admit disappointed with the meals we've had on the deals vouchers so far, will have to try somewhere different next time.

My elder son went to London with his girlfriend last week and used some CC vouchers at Navajo Joe's.

He said the food was fine, but they had to sit next to the bar, despite booking a specific table on a different floor (they closed that floor as they weren't busy).

And the drinks were included too, which was a nice bonus for him. He got to keep the cash I'd given him for drinks. Hmm.

By comparison we received very poor service at Caffe Uno. We were even told the place was full initially even though the place was practically empty. It was only because it was such bad weather last weekend that we insisted on getting a table..

Am sure this was because we had LO's:confused:

Poor service and poor food IMHO for Marlow restaurant.(and they charged seperatley for drinks there btw....)

We use CC vouchers in Yates, food always been fab and as we order the drinks (not often alcoholic mind you) with the food we pay for it all with vouchers and if its just over the voucher amount the extra with cash or debit card. Never been asked to pay for drinks seperately.

Staff in Aberdeen one are really nice too and no probs with DS being there either.

When you pay with Deal vouchers do you get a normal cash receipt or does it specifically mention that you have redeemed vouchers?
  • We spent our Tesco vouchers in Ortega (Spanish Tapas restaurant) today. The service was very good and the food was nice - a little over-priced if I was spending real money! We did have to pay for our drinks though.

Cafe Rouge on Park St don't let you include drinks.
