In December 2005 I moved to France to work, keeping my leasehold flat in London.
I recently checked my credit history to find a County Court Judgment for £3,427.00 had been granted on 14th March 2006 in favour of the freeholder.
I have not received any communication from the court or the freeholder about this claim/CCJ even though on the 9th December 2005 I wrote to the freeholders managing agents and told them my new contact address.
According to the records, the properties managing agent sent me in April 2007, I am up to date with my payments and have no idea what they are claiming for. They also confirmed this by email last week before going quiet.
During the last year I have had regular telephone and email contact with the managing agent about day to day matters regarding the property and no one said anything about a debt or action of any kind. I didn't receive any notice of an outstanding debt either verbal or written.
I have since tried on 5 occasions to get a response from the freeholders agents and the solicitor acting for the freeholder in this matter. The solictor put the phone down on me, and i still dont know what this is all about let alone what to do next.
If anyone can give me advice on this situation in general and about the key points to put into a letter to the court to try and get this CCJ removed from the public record I'd be really greatful.
It feels like I have a CCJ against me for no reason, without knowing about it and without having a chance to fight my corner.
Thanks all

This factsheet from nationaldebtline explains the reasons you can have a CCJ set aside, and how to go about it.
http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/factsheet.php?page=12_how_to_set_aside_a_judgment_in_the_county_court
I'll repeat the valid reasons here so others can see:WHEN WILL THE COURT AGREE TO SET ASIDE A JUDGMENT
The county court rules set out when you can apply to set aside a judgment. For example:- you may not have received the original claim form;
- you may have moved house and not had post from your previous address;
- an order was made against you in your absence in certain circumstances;
- there may be an error in the judgment;
- you want to put in a defence and did not have the opportunity to do this;
- the proceedings did not follow the court rules.
