Noticed on the terms and conditions: all mortgages to northern rock must be re paid on completion!!

Now we have a together mortgage at moment so we are keeping the unsecured loan part with Nram I guess this ok as it's not classed as a mortgage!!

    Hope u can help

I too had a 'together' mortgage and my solicitor just paid the mortgage element only. I checked with my new mortgage, and they were okay for me to continue the loan if I required (but I paid it off as I had planned to).

Just bear in mind that the interest rate shoots up on the unsecured loan if you have paid your mortgage. Instead of £50 per month for mine I was being told it would go upto £100 per month!

I'd be interested to know why it took so long, if you didn't mind me asking - simply because we've just hit 4 and a half weeks since application! An offer hopefully (subject to an OK valuation which was done yesterday - waiting to hear) will be out to us by the end of the week.

We've had issues with them not looking at documents very quickly - by them taking so long to go over my bank statement (dated 20th May) by the time they did, it was out of date and they wanted the one to 20th June!! They also didn't register the change of conveyancer despite TWO e-mails informing them as such, but the helpful call centre lady did eventually find them in their inbox - they hadn't been attached to our file even though we put the application number in the header as requested!

Not impressed with them so far... I hope the half-decent rate (3.39% at 85% LTV) is worth the hassle!

I think we wilted for the valuation to be booked in. This was a three week wait!! Then some incorrect dates by my broker on the edecloration form! All in all it will be worth it!

Yes I have called skipton they are happy for the unsecured loan to be left , we plan on re loaning it as soon as we have the keys to our new home!
