Human League - Won, but then told I don't qualify!

Just had a call from Newsquest regarding the below competition for tickets to see the Human League. The lady told me I'd won and then asked which area I was from. When I said Sheffield she told me I didn't qualify I'm a bit gutted as my boyfriend would have loved to see them, but the rules are rules I guess! I remember I've entered comps for newsquest across the country, so will definitely have to be more careful with what I enter from now on!

Hopefully we'll have another MSE winner anyways, fingers crossed!

Newsquest don't say they restrict the area in their comps - perhaps they need to be listed as regional

They don't always restrict entry to the local area but that one did

This competition is for Newsquest Northwest titles and for entrants that live within the Northwest area

good luck for another one.

Well I didn't think it was restricted either, if I'd have known I wouldn't have entered it! I never really read the T&C's on comps in huge detail though so I might have missed it..

EDIT: Ah, i DID miss it then. Oh well, onwards and upwards. Fingers crossed for other MSE's in the NW!

I got the same call - I think the lady was a bit miffed that all us yorkshire people were winning when it was restricted to North West in the T&C..ah well, never mind.
Pity they only ask for mobile number rather than address too in the entires.

I had the same thing with them Newsquest North West. I checked the terms and conditions and it just said open to U.K. etc etc but if you check on the actual comp page - right down the bottom - it says restricted to North West area. This sort of restriction does not seem to apply to other Newquest Sites (at the mo) worth just a quick look when you enter.

I almost won Katherine Jenkins tickets.
