should i be worried? i was sent a new natwest card (debit maestro cheque gaurentee card) on friday, as i have been working all weekend and wasnt planning on using my cards i just put it to one side to sort later (now). Well upon looking into it its for my main account (i have two) but the card looks quite different... the chip is much small than on my old card and the card number is a little smaller. Also my card has over 2 more years untill it expires do you know why they would end this card to me? i didnt request it, but i did remove my overdraft from both account

If I was you I would phone them and ask them why they sent it and for what purpose. If you original card still has over 2 yrs before it expires then something's not clear, unless as you say you took your od off and they have given you a new account?

well all i was going to phone them but i used it today to try it... and it works :T dont ask me why they sent it, maybe because i dont use that account much (with regards to the card) i dont know but i can access my account with it so i should be fine

Make sure you cut the old one up. I had a new one sent to me this week under the same circumstances and i have just cut the old one up.

If the chip is a lot smaller, it could be new technology they're changing to (although that should have been explained in any accompanying letter).

I'd still ring and ask though, even if it does work - I'd just want to be sure that somebody else hadn't requested the card in the hope of intercepting it in the mail!
