Why don't you go for the OEM version which can be had for about £70?

OEM version should only be sold with new PC builds, though some places will sell it if you buy a hard drive with it (consitutes a new build apparently).

Try your local computer fair, you might be lucky to get one "under the counter".

Does anybody know about this http://www.burn-media.co.uk/product.php?productid=91303535 and whether i can buy an academic licence.

I basically need a licence number to enter into my computer as a friend installed a copy of vista on my comp tht had been installed on another computer and now vista have blocked access to the whole comp until i have a valid activation code.

Microsoft have updated their EULA so you don't have to buy any hardware with this now :T

This is the upgrade which is no good the product key on this won't relate to the version you have installed.

Whichever version you have installed get OEM version to match from below

    http://www.aria.co.uk/Products?search=vista+oem&x=0&y=0&searchCat=749

If you dont mind doing a reinstall get the Home Premium 32 this is the most bang for buck version. Ultimate has uneeded features vs the extra cost and basic loses out on all the shiny vista graphics etc
