ebay wedding dresses

Hi There

I'm getting married next year and haven't got a huge budget. I've been looking at wedding dresses on ebay that are made in china etc. I've heard good and bad things and so I'm trying to collect feedback from people who've ordered dresses from ebay.

The prices are very tempting but if the quality isn't any good then it's a waste of money.

Has anyone ordered a dress from an ebay chinese seller and what was the quality like? Please list the seller, show photos of the dress etc as I'm sure others would be interested.

Apologies if this has been posted before but I can't seem to find any threads on this now.

Thanks
Claire

My daughter-in-law ordered a wedding dress from China via Ebay and was very disappointed in it, she said it looked like a child made it and is currently trying to get her money back.
  • my fiance has already picked her dress but she was debating buying from https://www.houseofbrides.com

She has heard good things about that site and also about the chinese dresses on ebay.

We were just alittle dubious about buying on the internet so bought from a shop instead.

I have heard that they take ages to come and largely arrive after 10 weeks of end of auction and can sometimes be poor quality. By this time you can't leave feedback on ebay as you can only do so for 10 weeks.

Have you considered buying an ex sample dress from ebay? There's a few bridal shops in Britan on ebay that sell off all their samples at the end of the season, so if you're not bothered about being at the cutting edge of bridal fashion you may get a good deal that way.

I got a Tracy Connop dress thats really gorgeous and it only cost me £120 including postage. It was a bit long for me so I just took it to a dressmakers to get it taken up, which was £20 and I had it drycleaned for £40 (not that it needed it particularly).

That way you dont have to worry about import taxes and it arriving on time and you know that it will be well made.

I bought my wedding dress on ebay but it was from the UK. Personally I wouldnt trust one of those Chinese ones. You don't know if your going to get it on time and when you get it it might be too late to do anything about it if it looks awful and how are you going to contact them if you have a problem? I think it might be a false economy.
