Evening all,
First episode is totally my fault, put unleaded in my diesel van (a lot of it too)!!! So pulled off the forecourt into the nearest parking spot which was a coach park of the service station monitored by our friends Parking Eye.
Was there for a total of 4 hours whilst the fuel pumping people came and did what they had to do.
Didn't see any signs re the 2 hour limit because I was parked in the coach park which was prohibiting anything but a coach parking there anyway! Obviously couldn't drive any further so was ready to take on the world if I was confronted! Nothing happened at the time though.
Date of event 12/10/12
First Pcn 20/10/12
Second Pcn 31/10/12
Outstanding amount due letter 5/12/12
Letter before action 1/7/13 (received 9/7/13
Amount £100 (same on all correspondence).
I am registered keeper and driver at time.
Ignored everything thus far.
Carry on ignoring?????
Thanks in anticipation.

So you've just identified yourself on a public forum to the parking eye employees who are reading this right now. So they can see what advice you are getting.
Right did you get both notice to keepers within 14 days? You need to send them a response to each lba you've had, or are they treating both with one letter?
You can send this to them
http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=80930When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

They are using the tried and tested tactic of issuing LBA and frivolous CCJ claims.
Anyone who is not prepared to fight in court should pay the invoice sent to them once any appeals by kangaroo courts such as the POPLA one have run out.
The case for them to claim contractual penalties is no better than it ever was.
The solicitors they are employing to harass motorist employ 3 solicitors, yet they are filing dozens of cases a day all over the UK.
Unless they have invented a time machine and travelator I can see a problem in store if people stand up to them.
You have two choices, pay them what they demand or stand up and fightback.
Await any claim form, take them on and put them back in their box again.Be happy...;)0 -
Thanks for the replies so far, not too concerned about pe seeing what advice I am getting. I'm pretty sure that they realise that most of their ticketees would do an Internet search to gain knowledge on what to do next.
Is it worth sending a letter accompanied with invoice from company who worked on my vehicle, to immediately quash any attempt that they may make?0 -
Yes just adapt the letter accordingly and photocopy any receipt inWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

Definitely do a strong reply if you have a Letter Before Action. You want to make your case so well argued that they won't want to pursue it, so DO NOT word it that it was 'your fault' and do not imply that you were driving either!!
Also try complaining to the Motorway Service Area (MSA) Manager even now.
And look at the information I posted on Muffin the Mule's thread (first example linked below, see post #7) which is SPECIFICALLY designed to make a ticket from a 'MSA' such a hard one for PE to take on that they might drop it.
I think there is even a rule about not charging a broken down vehicle in a MSA, have a look at the DFT link I gave to Muffin!
PE are now trying some small claims; just read current threads on the forum:

REMEMBER YOUR RESPONSE IS NOT AN APPEAL, NOT EXCUSES, IT'S A COMPLAINT, A STRONG CHALLENGE TO GET PE TO DROP IT FAST SO PUT EVERYTHING IN!
If you do get a small claim then follow this advice:

HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
