Debt Repayments From Pension Credit?

Hi, I'm new to this site although I'm not new to debt, unfortunately!

I've received a letter from Lowell Portfolio saying they have bought a £4000 debt of mine from First Credit and asking me to phone them to arrange settlement.
I left the UK in 2002 and defaulted on a credit card although I don't remember the company being First Credit.
I returned to the UK (Scotland) last year and so this is the first contact I've received from any collection agency.
It's within the statute barred period and so I won't be able to avoid repayments of some sort but here's my question:
I'm 62 years and live alone, receiving Pension Credit of £119.05 per week, and my rent and council tax is paid by the local authorities.
I have no assets (motor vehicle, property etc) and no savings.
Will Lowell be able to make me pay contributions from my pension credit?
Thanks for any suggestions you may have .....
