Photo Effort Comps

I'm having a bit of trouble with photo effort comps, and wondered if somebody could shed some light. Normally with these kind of comps, there are dpi and size requirements to adhere to.
Firstly, I have no idea what dpi is, but after checking the details of photographs on my computer, most of mine are 96dpi which is great.
The problem I'm having is size. My pics have been taken on a pretty nifty camera, and are great quality, but are all less than 1MB (I think). Is there a way to increase the size of a pic to fit the requirements? Or is my camera simply not good enough?
Sorry if this doesn't make sense, but unfortunately technology isn't my strong point

Normally the file size requirements are just a maximum upload size, you don't have to make it reach the maximum if that's what you mean?
If by size you mean the actual image dimensions, resizing them bigger on a computer won't help because you will lose quality, you would need to find a setting on your camera to get it to take the photo at a larger size to start with.0 -
You can use something like Microsoft Office Picture Manager and increase the dimensions of the pic but the image will then decrease in quality.
Have a look at the settings on your camera and set picture quality to its highest. You'll get less pics on your card but they will be larger in size and better quality for photo comps2014 Losses - Front Door Key, Premier League, Luis Suarez0
